Michael Strutt
Michael is the proprietor of Penman Clockcare. Trained by Laurie Penman, technical
author and horological tutor of international repute, he undertakes clock repair
work and manages the business on a day to day basis. With a background in education,
administration and inspection, he is responsible for all aspects of business
development, customer services and quality assurance. |

Peter Charlton
Peter Charlton has been repairing watches and clocks for 35 years. He served
an apprenticeship in Lincolnshire U.K. and has worked on all types of watches
and clocks. His specialism is early mechanical wrist watches, including Rolex,
Omega, Patek Phillipe, Longines and Cartier.

Paul Mason
 Paul
served a four year horological apprenticeship
during the course of which he was a prize winner
with the British Horological Institute. He worked for Cartier before establishing
a watch and clock repair business. Since 1982 he has been working on freelance
commissions making unique clock movements and automata for objets d'art
(including a copy of the Faberge Chanticleere Egg), erotic automata, mystery
clocks and a walking armadillo! He is now concentrating on high-class watch repairs
and clock and automata movements made to customers' own specifications. Paul
is a Fellow of the British Horological Institute.

Colin Seaton
 Colin
served six years apprenticeship With the Central School of Arts and Crafts and
Aspreys of Bond Street, London where he learnt gold and silversmithing to the
highest standards. During this time, he was an Arts Council design prizewinner.
Subsequently, he was awarded the freedom of the Goldsmiths Company and of the
City of London. He has spent a career working in the top London workshops and,
in collaboration with Paul, has worked on many prestige gold and silver objets
d'art for export around the world.
Colin now specializes in high quality design and restoration work and commissions
made to customers' own requirements.

Paul Laws
Paul is responsible for our clock finding
service. His training was in the field of fine art, with an emphasis on sculpting.
In recent years he has combined his love of working with wood and his passion
for antiques with clock restoration.
He has a wide ranging knowledge of clock makers, mechanisms and provenance and
he uses this knowledge to assist his researches for customers.

Below are examples of repair prices. These
are estimated costs for the standard service on various types of clock. The
making of parts and restoration work is not covered in the service price but
customers will be notified if significant additional costs could be incurred. Work
can be sent and delivered by insured post or courier. Goods in transit
are at the sole risk of the owner. Home visits, collection and delivery of clocks
and setting up can be arranged and a scale of charges will be provided on request.
Clocks and watches are dismantled and cleaned in ultrasonic cleaning tanks,
parts are polished where appropriate and any necessary corrective work undertaken. The
clock is then reassembled, adjusted and tested. New parts can be made but
every attempt is made to preserve the clock as near as possible to its original
condition.
Penman Clockcare also offers a repair service for modern and antique watches
and jewellery, as well as bespoke items of gold and silver design and jewellery
making.
All work is guaranteed and estimates are given before work is undertaken. |
